OVERCOMING FEAR

What if we saw fear as a positive, fun challenge to overcome as opposed something daunting and negative?

What if you knew the essential outcome?

Would you do more?

FEAR IS HEALTHY.

Dr. F. Emelia Sam said three reasons that fear is healthy:

1. Courage and fear go hand in hand.

She suggests that courage is when a person does something they're otherwise afraid to do.

...Bravery doesn’t exist in the absence of trepidation.

2. Physiology can be misleading.

Fear is intended to keep us safe. However, some peoples versions of fear may be elicit the same response whether it's life or death...or not.

3. Fear is instructive.

Often, fear often points us to areas we need to investigate more closely. Though our instinct may be to flee, this type of fear is much-needed guidance.

WHAT IS YOUR FEAR?

You don't necessarily need to face it head on but could take baby steps.

Dance class where you may feel (and know you are) super gawky. Go to a movie alone - on a Saturday night. Take a road trip!

Take a step back and assess what’s holding you back from doing something you want to do or attaining something you want to have.

What’s the worst thing that could happen?!

Better yet: what’s the best??
