Seven (my lucky/fav number) foods that make you happy...why wouldn't you want to eat these, I ask you??? 1. Chocolate: 1.4 ounces DAILY! reduces stress hormones. #BAM 2. Carbs: people on low carb diets (20-40  grams= 1 bread slice) are grumpy.  Well, duh they're hungry! 3. Whole foods (aka: in natural state):  have antioxidants that lower risk of depression. 4. Thoughtful Thursday...My New Thursday Thang

I've been stumped...every Thursday. Along came Thursday and I was without purposeful writing...ugh. I mean, I wasn't losing sleep over it or anything but, I'm also not good at dialing it in. It's 19 degrees. Yup. No can go outside...mostly because I'm wondering if I'll fall on my keester running. First of all, I loathe the word "try". Why? It's a weak word. We don't really use it the way its intended. We tend to use it in the context of doing our best. If what we mean is "give it our best"? Friyay: Me Feeling Fiiiinnnnne!

Finally! I feeeeel goooood! The holidays were nothing short of incredible; so loving, so lovely and SO MUCH DANG FUN! but holy smokes Batman, they were exhausting and I was left feeling a bit blue. I am finally feeling human. Just now. There are actually real terms for post holiday recovery: post holiday Blues, Recovery, Depression, Slump etc. Who knew?!? And I'm those definitions. Yes, yes, I went thru all my "be happy" self-talk but that only sorta worked. As you may or may not know, we just moved. We had SO much family and framily here over the holidays and it was magical...and Karen would have been in the corner sobbing if no one had visited. Why was I bummin? BC they left (me!)!

Thursday Tip: Teeth

As we've heard the Tuesday tip of making Tumeric tea can make your teeth TEMPORARILY yellow, other things like coffee (yummm) and wine (also yummmm), can too. What's a person to do? Well, I've been using charcoal toothpaste. Initially, it was super fun to "scare" the kids when I brushed my teeth because my gums and mouth turned black. After the fun wore off, I wondered would it work? Yup. I went to the dentist yesterday, it does. Teeth were a smidge whiter and that plaque scraping was down to a few minutes. I woke tired. I hate that. My main man snored down a forest and I woke tired (which implies that I slept). And so today went....made coffee (TGoodness for coffee), made hot breakfast (I do every day), drove Penelope to school, walked doggies with KC while helping him study for science test (anyone know what a gibbus moon is? I do now!) and got him on the bus. My turn to workout and I still wasn't feeling it. Not. At. All. Friyay...I'm struggling.

I don't mean to sound like a downer but there are days that I'm just not motivated. I'm tired of working out, eating healthy, thinking of blog or picture ideas. Just tired. Today is that. So, what's a girl to do? I got my butt outta bed at the crack of darkness, drank some badass coffee (I'd take it thru an IV if I could), fed my 4-leggeds and worked out. ''Twas a struggle. I sweated it out on my stepper, 100 squats, 5 min of abs (next wed post is my 5 min ab series), stretched and off for my busy Friday! New Year. New Diet?

Oh lordy, please no. Not one more time. Diets do not work. Ever. What's a person to do? After all, if your body shape n size is genetics at work, just let it go and that's your plight? Nope! You just need to be realistic. You need to learn. Knowledge is Power. And you need to do this learning thing FOREVER (hence, aforesaid dieting doesn't work).
