Forget Resolutions

Plain n simple. Just Don't. How about this little fact: EIGHT PERCENT of all people keep their resolutions. Whaaaa??!!? Now, I'm not saying don't make deals with yourself to be and do better in whatever. I'm telling you to create/make little goals ALL YEAR that benefit you and your world around you. The most successful people do succeed by doing these things: -Make the resolution about someone else or make it meaningful to you -Start small and find consistency. -Write it down and place it where you are most. -Be resolute in your choice and follow though. -Choose another and repeat steps 1-4. Listen, if making big deals with yourself and failing is your thang, go ahead. Have fun failing.

Workout Wednesday

Ok....I did not know that it would get SO cold! Isn't Texas all desert and hot? 😂. Anyway, no pond workout for me on this 37 degrees Wednesday...especially because I'm not feelin it. Wed is kinda a blah workout day for me. I guess I need to change my brain w that eh? Here's my advice: do something! Anything is better than sitting on your butt thinking that you "should". 40-50 minutes of cardio is my sweet spot. I'm less of a bitch; less anxious, less moody, feel like a well-run machine. Today: 20 min on stepper, 20 min on recumbent bike 10 jump roping. Voila! happy hormones! 30 minutes: TRX full-body-integrated, reformer legs in straps (#aaahhh), abs and stretch. Statistically Speaking...Give. NOW.

This isn't my typical Friyay post but we need to STOP and THINK and GIVE. NOW. Here are the facts for the average human We gain: 1.9 lbs between Xmas and NYE We gain: 7 lbs between Thanksgiving and NYE 61% will shop on the 24th with only 12% done before Dec 12th. 174 million shopped cyber-weekend. ...We could save the planet from starvation and related illnesses with HALF the amount of money we spend and on the food that we consume. And one last BIGGIE: We could feed a 1/3 of the planet with the food we waste! Please, give: time, energy AND money. Most of us have a bit extra to give. It's easy to find ways without giving money: -donate time and energy to senior homes -go to your person

Wednesday Workout @ The Pond

In the 25+ years teaching, never, ever, never have I heard someone say: "I super bummed that I just did that". Unless that person walked around and preened or something else that wastes time...yet, he/she said he/she went to the gym...and we all know a person or two like that. Jus sayin. I was looking for blog ideas a while back and came across Tapping. WTH?? Yep, Tapping. Like, using your fingertips to tap your face. I love Friday. It's my busiest work day and I Iove, love, love teaching. LOVE! As well, the kids are out of school for two whole days which means less nagging about school work, making lunches, and practicing their activities and more relaxing, fun, reading and playing games. Wednesday Workout: Do 3 More

Staying with my "more" theme... Workouts are just that: workouts. YOUR workout needs to be specifically for YOU. Why? All bodies are not created the same. Uh...seems pretty obvious right? Well then, why would you do a workout that wasn't created or tailored for you? I will never have the body of Elle MacPherson or Gigi Hadid (No, seriously, I won't..I'm 5'3" on a tall day). Every Thursday, I will write a SHORT fit/life tip. You have choices. Yes, you really do. I know of what I me. You may feel stuck or paralyzed in your life but believe me, you have choices. I choose greatness, kindness, and positivity. Not doing my best to be my best Karen, isn't an option. Yep, the sh*t may hit the fan more often than I want. You Have Choices

You really do! Gratefully! I mean, there are always exceptions. However, if you're reading this- you have choices. One of them is reading this (and thank you!). Exercise, eating healthy and drinking water are a few more goodies. Listen, I've been around this "wellness" block a few (thousand) times...I've heard every comment and excuse as to why, when or how you should or could make the choice (or not) to live a bit better.
